Hanover County (Va.) Court Records, 1834-1888. The collection contains 13 documents removed from Hanover County court records, as follows: a deposition from the chancery cause Burton vs. Liggon's Administrator, 1834; a subpoena from the chancery cause Bethell vs. Blakeley's Administrator, 1835; a summary of proceedings from the chancery cause Mary Burch vs. Administrator of Peter Burch, 1838; a decree from the chancery cause William Hancock vs. James M. Breedlove, etc., 1845; a letter from an unknown series from William S. Richardson to C. William Dabney, 1846; a letter and affidavit from the court case Barrett and others vs. Peers and others, 1846; a receipt and envelope with the surnames Crenshaw and Stanley, 1872; a postcard with the surname Leake, 1878; a postcard with the surnames Bosher and Pollard, 1883; a postcard with the surnames Jones and Redd, 1884; an envelope from the case Richardson vs. Burnett and Talley, 1886; and an envelope with the surname Leake, 1888.

Henrico County (Va.) Court Records, 1846. The collection contains a document removed from Henrico County chancery court records. The document contains a notice to take depositions, 1846 Jan. 8, and the affidavit of Jefferson Wallace, 1846 Jan. 17. The notice and affidavit are part of the Henrico County Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery cause Theodorick Robertson vs. Mayo B. Carrington and James G. Morris.

Henry County (Va.) Court Record, 1832. The collection contains a copy of a petition removed from Henry County court records. The petition is from Philip Anglin, asking the Court of Appeals to reverse a judgment against him brought by William Webb in the Henry County Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery.

Jefferson County (W.Va.) Court Record, 1813 May 2. The collections a letter removed from Jefferson County (West) Virginia court records. The letter was used as an exhibit in a case in which a Mr. Taylor and a Mr. Robinson and wife were defendants. The letter is from Charles Cocke, in Petersburg, to Bennett Taylor in Charlestown, (West) Virginia. Cocke describes his tentative plans to sell his estate, called Warwick, and settle his family beyond the mountains or in Alexandria. He also mentions an outbreak of illness in Southampton County.

Louisa County (Va.) Court Records, 1838-1854. The collection contains documents removed from Louisa County chancery records and unidentified court records series. The records are comprised of accounts, an answer, depositions, letters, and notices of publication from the following Louisa County chancery causes, indexed in the Chancery Records Index, available on the Library of Virginia web site: 1843-006, 1843-008, 1844-002, 1844-011, 1845-001, 1845-009, 1847-002, 1847-015, 1848-007, 1849-005, 1849-006, 1849-008, 1849-014, 1850-002, 1850-016, 1851-001, 1851-003, 1851-012, 1851-016, 1852-002, 1852-007, 1854-002, and 1854-005. Also included are a petition from the Devisees of Nathaniel A. Smith, 1848; five letters, and an envelope from unidentified series. Surnames in these letters are Hardin, Martin, Payne, Greene, Thompson, Timberlake, Winston, and Uleyate.

Lynchburg (Va.) Court Records, 1808-1857. The collection contains various documents removed from Lynchburg Court records, as follows: a letter pertaining to the court case Tabb vs. Featherstone, 1829; a letter from the chancery cause Nathan Hutchison vs. C. Pigg and others, 1830; two letters, a deposition, an envelope, and a reference to the marriage record for William Price and Mary Simpson (1808), from the court case Adams vs. Penn, 1808-1838; a letter and receipts from a chancery cause involving Jones, Davis, Webb, and the firm Brooke and Hamilton, 1839; two depositions and an affidavit from the chancery cause King vs. Kent, 1842; an execution from the chancery cause Garland vs. Henry, 1846; and a letter from the court case Gills vs. Gills, 1857.

Madison County (Va.) Court Record, 1842. The collection contains an affidavit removed from Madison County court records. The affidavit pertains to publication of a decree from the Madison County Superior Court of Chancery cause Joanna Stewart (nee Barnett), etc. vs. Executrix of James Barnett, etc. Other surnames among the plaintiffs and defendants are Sullivan, Barnes, Jesse, Steel, Beale, Metcalfe, and McCormick.

Middlesex County (Va.) Court Records, 1821-1848. The collection contains 17 documents removed from Middlesex County court records: a copy of a Gloucester County deed between Francis Whiting and Stanley Hudnall, 1821; a letter from a chancery cause with the surname Berry, 1839; a copy of a court order to record a deed, 1839; a notice to take the deposition of Carter Braxton and others for a Superior Court of Law and Chancery case Administrator of John Bassett vs. Richard Jones and wife and others, 1839; a copy, 1842, of a deed of manumission from Benjamin Hurd freeing his wife Betsy, and her two children Joshua and Moses, 1842, and three judgments in debt against the estate of Hurd, 1843; nine letters to the law firm McGill and Woodward pertaining to debts owed to a Baltimore firm, Magruder and Dalrymple, 1842-1845; a subpoena from the chancery cause Gatewood's Administrator vs. Montague and others, 1845; a judgment, Sarah Kerr vs. Executor of John R. Carlton, 1847; and a judgment, Larkin Hundley vs. Administrator of Parry, 1848.

Monroe County (West) Virginia Court Record, undated. The item is an envelope that was removed from Monroe County court records. It is addressed to Lewis Thomas, Indian Creek Post Office, Monroe County, with a South Hanover, Indiana, postmark.

Nelson County (Va.) Court Records, 1838-1849. The collection contains two documents removed from Nelson County court records: a letter from R.M. Perkins to Colonel R.B. Patterson, 1839, concerning a debt; and a commissioner's report giving an account of the sale of two slaves and other property from the estate of Mildred Ware. The slaves sold were Patty, who was sold to Charles B. Hines, and Philip, who was sold to Elizabeth Mullons. The report was created in 1838 and received by the court in 1849.
