Background

Scope and content:

This collection includes eight World War II era pamphlets, including one revised post-war, from about 1941-1950. The bulk are from 1941-1945, and contain content on rationing, substitutions, and food practices. Five pamphlets are from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), two are from specific companies that include advertising (Lysol and P. Duff and Sons), and one is a recipe and order form for milk. Several of the pamphlets include recipes and meal planning.

Acquisition information:
The World War II Food Pamphlets were purchased by Special Collections and Univeristy Archives in December 2023.
Processing information:

The processing, arrangement, and description of the World War II Food Pamphlets was completed in February 2026.
