This manuscript is a personal history of David A. Weed of the 6th New York Heavy Artillery from his entrence into the American Civil War until the date he mustered out to return home.
- Biographical / historical:
-
David A. Weed (1842-1905) was a captain in Company B of the 6th New York Heavy Artillery in the American Civil War. During the war, he received several promotions, ultimately to the rank of Captain. After the war, he was married and continued to work in public service. He died at home in Scarsdale, New York, in 1905.
