    <head>Biographical Note</head>
<p>David A. Weed (1842-1905) was a captain in Company B of the 6th New York Heavy Artillery in the American Civil War. During the war, he received several promotions, ultimately to the rank of Captain. After the war, he was married and continued to work in public service. He died at home in Scarsdale, New York, in 1905. </p><p>External source:</p><p>"David A.
