Diaries; 1922-1967, of Eleanor Wormley Perrin of "Goshen," Gloucester County, Va. These forty-five diaries span nearly a half century, from 1922 to 1967, and document life in 20th century Virginia. Perrin's diaries discuss local events, female social life, national events such as wars and politics, hurricanes, the death of family and friends, and other topics. Toward the end of Perrins's life her diary entries increase in length and intimateness, often expressing loneliness and reflecting upon the complexities of life.

Collection is primarily correspondence between Robert Garrett Johnson (1895-1987) and Lilian Hancock Nance (1898-1990), both of Moneta, Virginia. Also included are letters from family members and friends which include Lilian's sister Julia Nance. Nicknames that are used periodically or throughout the letters include "Rob," "Robbie," "Johnnie," and "Jonney" in reference to Robert Johnson; "Lindy" in reference to Lilian Nance; and "Ju" in reference to Julia Nance.

Family members included Signor Bradby, Elizabeth Bradby and Annie Bradby. Some papers relate to Willmore Jones, John Jones, and other Jones family members. Several transactions with the firm of J.A. The photographs are used to create and revise topographical maps of the United States. They are taken in cycles ranging from 5-7 years from an airplane flying at an altitude of 20,000 ft. and they cover an area that is slightly over 5 miles.
