Corporate litigants include the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, Carleton Mining and Power Company, Franklin Coal and Coke Company, Freeport Coal Company, Preston County Power Company, Standard Oil Company, Tildesley Coal Company, Victory Coal Company, and the West Virginia Northern Railroad Company. Degree, and received his J.D. Degree from WVU College of Law in 1946. He had a general law practice in Kingwood since 1946, and was joined by his son Richard in 1985. He married Geraldine Pickens in 1946.
