Abstract:
Publications from the Kingwood law office of attorney Charles V. Wehner (12 November 1921 to 11 September 2009). Includes mostly booklets regarding cases before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, or the Supreme Court of Appeals of the United States. There are personal and corporate litigants. Corporate litigants include the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, Carleton Mining and Power Company, Franklin Coal and Coke Company, Freeport Coal Company, Preston County Power Company, Standard Oil Company, Tildesley Coal Company, Victory Coal Company, and the West Virginia Northern Railroad Company. Boxes 1-4 contain court documents (ca. 1907-1965); box 5 contains Buckwheat Festival programs (1992-2013). Charles Wehner was a 1943 graduate of West Virginia University with an A.B. Degree, and received his J.D. Degree from WVU College of Law in 1946. He had a general law practice in Kingwood since 1946, and was joined by his son Richard in 1985. He married Geraldine Pickens in 1946.
