Collection contains histories of the Hardin, Iglehart, Kincheloe, Waters, Wickliffe, and allied families such as Neal, Logan, Foley, Lewis, Peadro, Phelps, Monroe, Dils, McQuilkin, and others. Collection also includes Jones' correspondence relating to the above genealogies and some newspaper clippings.

Personal and genealogical papers of the Dean of the WVU College of Engineering from 1911 to 1932. The papers deal with academic pursuits including the controversy over the reorganization of the Engineering College in 1931-32, and his social and professional activities. Four boxes contain genealogical notes and history on some of the first Ohio Valley families including the Wickliffe, Harden, Monroe, Gambrill, and Jones families. Modern copies of images of late 19th century African-American family. Images date 1880 to 1917.

Primarily letters, postcards, and receipts, mostly from the period 1921-1923 of an African American family living in Lightfoot, Virginia. Family members included Signor Bradby, Elizabeth Bradby and Annie Bradby. Some papers relate to Willmore Jones, John Jones, and other Jones family members. Several transactions with the firm of J.A. Bozarth of Williamsburg are present.

Papers, 1847-1859, of the Jones and Bethune families. Includes letters written to Cornelia C. Bethune Jones of Columbus, Ga. and Barbour County, Ala; letters written to John Bethune; and receipts for the purchase of slaves.

Papers, 1826-1916, of the Jones family of "Land's End," Gloucester County, Virginia, and related families of Curtis, Taliaferro, Page and Harrison. Includes correspondence, genealogical notes, obituaries, legal files, real estate material, notes concerning Land's End, Petsworth Parish (Gloucester County), Yorktown, and the homes of the Cringan family and the Mackenzie family, and Bible records of the Jones and Fauntleroy families.

Diary kept by members of the Tabb family, entitled, "Summerville Diary." Written by Rebecca Lloyd Tabb and Mary Lee Tabb as well as other members of the Tabb family. The diary records activities such as baseball, card games, teas, gardening, John Tabb's school, visits from neighbors and relatives, the Christmas celebration of 1910 and Rebecca Lloyd Tabb's wedding to Henry Bouldin. It also describes a visit of the Tabb parents to the University of Virginia for their son Warner Throckmorton Tabb in June 1911. Mentioned in the diary are members of the Perrin, Taliaferro, and Jones families.
