This collection consists of three notebooks containing lecture notes taken by Alfred R. Armstrong in Roscoe C. Young's advanced physics classes, 1932-1933, at the College of William and Mary.

This collection contains proposals, newsletters, and related material created by SURA and VARC when applying for the location of a national electron accelerator laboratory in Newport News, Virginia. The collection also includes publications created by the Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility (CEBAF).

This collection includes announcements, 1966 conference book, and material about the graduate programs of the Department of Physics at the College of William and Mary.

The bulk of this collection contains subject files, correspondence, reports, and committee files created and collected by William and Mary Physics Professor Hans Von Baeyer while he was Director of the Virginia Associated Research Campus (VARC) from 1979-1984. Included in this material are: correspondence and reports of Board of Visitors Meetings; reports of the William and Mary Self-Study committee in 1983; and correspondence with various William and Mary offices and departments. The papers also include other professional, administrative, and personal material of von Bayer such as material related to a book, his involvement with Elderhostel, and Physics courses he taught at William and Mary.

Acc. 1985.010: Graduate Program Evaluations, 1975-1990. This accession includes evaluations conducted by a Review Committee and external consultants, along with comments from the departments under review.

Acc. 1983.046 contains guidelines for specific schools about how to conduct a self study; reports of departmental self studies; correspondence about the 1974 self study. Begins with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Manual for Self Study, then is arranged alphabetically by department/school and spans the years 1972-1974.

The bulk of this collection contains newsletters collected by the Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility (CEBAF), an underground high-tech machine nearly a mile around. CEBAF is located in Newport News at the Jefferson Laboratory of the College of William and Mary.Acc. 1985.48 includes the Southeastern Universities Research Association's (SURA) proposal for locating a national electron accelerator laboratory at the Virginia Associated Research Campus and the Space Radiation Effects Laboratory. It includes support letters from College of William and Mary President Graves and the proposal prepared by Hans C. von Baeyer.Acc. 2008.174 includes proposals and related material which may be duplicated elsewhere in this collection.

This collection contains correspondence, publications, newsletters, reports, and other material pertaining to the Office of University Communications at the College of William and Mary. The bulk of the records consist of press releases and newspaper clippings related to faculty, staff, students, and alumni at the College from the 1940s to the 1980s. The collection includes publications, grant proposls, an audit report, minutes of the governing committee, and other material documenting the Virginia Associated Research Campus (VARC) of the College of William and Mary. The largest group of records (Accession 1991.099) includes material related to grants and contracts, buildings, personnel, ledgers, correspondence, manuals, insurance, audit, and other operations of VARC. It is 20.4 cubic feet in size and is currently unprocessed.
