These archives also include the records of the Division of Documents [1936-1942] and acknowledgements of library gifts by the University President [1951-1960]. Other material relates to National Youth Administration (payroll and rules), the department of Archives and History in Charleston, library budget, and staff changes.

Papers of influential fire engineer Lloyd Layman (1898-1968). Includes correspondence, reports, clippings and articles, photographs, books by Layman, scrapbook, and other material. This collection is minimally processed.

The W. Jett Lauck collection consists of his professional, business and personal papers as an economist, statistician and government consultant on immigration, banking, railroads, coal, and unemployment problems as well as other facets of labor in the United States. Included are correspondence, scrapbooks of news clippings reflecting his activities, labor reports and studies, drafts of congressional bills, legal briefs, and other material concerning labor problems in the United States from its formative World War I years until 1949. They begin with his association with the progressive labor codes of the Taft-Walsh Labor Relations Commission and continue with the Railway Labor Act of 1926; the fight to gain recognition of labor's right to collective bargaining "through representatives of their own choosing" under the National Industrial Recovery Act in 1933; the incorporation of its principles in the National Labor Relations Act; and further activity in defense of this act.

The Hampden-Sydney Photograph Collection is an iterative, artificial collection featuring myriad photos of people, places, and things associated with the College, from its founding in 1775 until the present. Much of the collection is unprocessed, and most of the photos are unidentified.

This collection contains ninety years' worth of records related to the history of the Metropolitan Theatre and other respected local arts institutions, such as the Strand Theatre, Morgan Theatre, Morgantown Theatre Company, Morgantown Amusement Company and Westover Drive-In. Materials include movie posters, newspaper clippings, tickets, movie studio newsletters, film stills, operators' reports, payroll ledgers and blueprints, among other material.

Records of the Institute for the History of Technology and Industrial Archaeology (IHTIA), an organization affiliated with West Virginia University, including reports and research papers regarding the history of industrial technology and preservation of historical sites, particularly within West Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region. This collection also includes photographs, negatives, and photo mechanical transfers of historical sites in these regions. The Allegheny Highlands Project Records consist of the administrative files of the Allegheny Highlands Project (AHP), September 1970-July 1980, as well as records of farming activities of farm cooperators enrolled in the program. Administrative records for the operation of the AHP include planning documents, policies and correspondence, budgets and other financial documents, progress reports, vendor records, promotional materials including information sheets, and job applications and other personnel-related papers including WVU faculty reviews.

Includes records of the West Virginia University Agricultural Experiment Station. Records include incoming and outgoing correspondence for and from Agricultural Experiment Station directors and staff, a minute book, Experiment Station Reports, photograph albums, papers, and glass plate negatives. The records document the Experiment Station's work researching injuries to crops, problems with poultry and livestock, soil and fertilizer, etc. Series include:
