Family papers compiled by Katherine Williams of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. Most of the papers are of the James H. Taylor family of Clarksburg, West Virginia dating from the 19th century. There are also records of the Irwin family including a genealogy, and the Civil War letters of private George Irwin, a soldier in Company F, 95th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Other families documented include the Redman and Summers families. The collection includes letters, autograph books, family business records, genealogies, photographs, and other material.

The Carter Glass papers, 1820-1946, 141 cubic feet, consist of correspondence, manuscripts, newspaper articles, photographs, speeches, and printed materials from his work in the Banking and Currency Committee, the Secretary of the Treasury (1918-1920), and the United States Senate (1920-1946). Subjects include: The Federal Reserve Banking Act of 1913, the Federal Reserve system, and the Banking Act of 1933 (1932 Glass-Steagall Act).

The original collection contains a letter (May 22,1778) from John Taylor in Fishkill, New York to William Woodford about Woodford's promotion during the Revolutionary War and his feelings about the war. There is also a biographical sketch of John Taylor, and one of John Penn.

This collection includes addresses and communications from presidents to members of the College of William and Mary community. Office records from all presidents from 1888 to the present are also described in other finding aids in this database. Scattered records are also available for presidents prior to 1888.

The records of the Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa at the College of William and Mary include minutes, business records, addresses and speeches, poems, correspondence, publications, membership cards, and other records.

The Adèle Goodman Clark papers document the life and activities of Miss Clark (1882-1983) throughout her adult life, as well as those of her closest friends and relatives. Miss Clark was a member of a small group of civically active Richmond women whose names appear throughout the collection. Of particular note are members of Clark's family, Edith Clark Cowles, Willoughby Ions, and friends Roberta Wellford, Lila Meade Valentine, Lucy Randolph Mason, Ida Mae Thompson, Eudora W. Ramsay Richardson, Nora Houston and Josephine Houston.
