This collection contains black and white as well as color prints, negatives, and slides of photographs collected by the William & Mary Alumni Association for various events on the William & Mary campus. The bulk of the photographs concern events related to Homecoming including the parade, class reunions, and the Sunset Ceremony. The collection also contains photographs of Commencement, athletic events, photographs produced for the Alumni Gazette and other publicaitons, as well as the retirement ceremony for former president Davis Y. Paschall.

This collection contains a substantial record of the administrative aspects of the Alumni Band Organization (ABO). Although the bulk of the records are related to this aspect of the ABO, the records are incomplete in several areas. However, the organization is in the process of collecting their records for donation to the University Archives and these gaps will likely be filled in the future. The records of the group are exhaustive in regards to the newsletters published by the group. However, the concert programs, photographs, and assorted ephemera are also incomplete at this time.

This collection contains programs for memorial services held at the William & Mary or associated with the university. This includes programs from the Annual Memorial Service at the William & Mary to honor those that have died during the preceding year. In 1978 the service became known as the Sunset Ceremony held in October during Homecoming. Specific ceremonies that have been conducted in the past include "Roster of the Dead" and placing the wreath on William & Mary President Benjamin S. Ewell's Grave held in June, Fallen French Soldiers in 1981, Constance M.K. Applebee in 1982, William & Mary President John Stewart Bryan in 1944, reinternment of William & Mary President Thomas Roderick Dew in 1939, John F. Kennedy in 1963, Goronwy Owen in 1957, and the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
