This addition to the Duke familypapers consists of five letters and four miscellaneous items pertaining to various members of the Duke familyof Charlottesville, Virginia, ca. 1886-1909, and undated. There are three letters to R. T. W. Duke, Jr., one from Lippincott's Monthly Magazineaccepting three of his poems for publication (1886 Dec 22); another from John F. Slaughterdiscussing his financial affairs (1886 Sep 3); and a third from William R. Dukediscussing the financial affairs of Mrs. [Slaughter] and her desire to take possession of the house in question (1889 Sep 27). Also present is a copy of the poem "Father's Child" by R. T. W. Duke, Jr.and a composition by Jack Duke, his son, entitled "My Experience Camping Out" (1903).
