The IAWA Small Collections was compiled from a variety of sources by Special Collections staff for use in reference and research. The collection consists primarily of biographical materials for women architects, architectural historians, and designers including curriculum vitas, firm brochures, exhibit notices, photographs, and publications. Drawings, sketches, course notes, correspondence, and other materials pertaining to architectural collections are also present.

Judith Edelman, FAIA, was a partner at The Edelman Partnership/Architects of New York City and a founding member of the Alliance of Women in Architecture (AWA). Edelman chaired the American Institute of Architect's first task force on women. Her papers comprise correspondence, photographs, lecture materials, newspaper clippings, publications, project files, and ephemera relating to Edelman's work in architecture and urban development as well as her advocacy on behalf of women professionals.

Rebecca Wood Watkin was born in 1913 in Portland, Oregon. She earned a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College in 1933, and a B. Arch. from the Architecture School of the University of Pennsylvania. She returned to the west coast, and worked in other architects' offices during the 1930s and 1940s. She earned her California Architectural license in 1944 and opened her own practice in 1951. The collection consists of architectural drawings of remodelings, alterations, additions, and new designs of buildings, mostly residences, that Watkin worked on from 1940 to 1989.

Born in Germany in 1943, she relocated to California with her family in 1953. She earned a B. Arch. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1966. SLR/Architects specialized in technical facilities and industrial work providing architectural services for many of the pre-eminent Silicon Valley firms in the 1980s and 1990s. The collection consists of architectural drawings, photographs, administrative and job files, contracts, and other material relating to over 700 of Rupp's projects, as well as material relating to Rupp's personal travel and artistic endeavors. The materials in the collection range in date from 1950-2004 with the bulk of the material dating 1976-2004.
