The majority of the collection is composed of videotape recordings of local-origination programming aired on the Jefferson Cable Corporation, including City Council Meetings and local news specials.

This collection contains war materials and materials related to the University of Virginia both donated by Joel Gardner. The war memorabila is from the eighteenth to the twenty-first century including a certification that Sergeant James Goldsmith served in the Continental Army in 1781; a letter dated July 8, 1862 requesting permission to form a "Company of 'Partisan Rangers" from the Confederate States Army; a photograph of Neville Chamberlain and Adolf Hitler following a September 24, 1938 meeting; and a swatch of fabric from a life raft used by Francis Gary Powers after being shot down while on a surveillance mission to the Soviet Union in 1960.

John Augustine Washington collection of 7 letters were purchased separately and the Small Special Collections Library combined them into one collection, 0.04 cubic feet, 1837-1845. There are letters from Jacob Thompson to John Augustine Washington about the purchase of slaves, a letter from Judith B. Alexander to John Augustine Washington about his health, two letters from John Augustine Washington to his mother, Jane Charlotte Blackburn Washington about Mount Vernon and slaves at "Blakeley" plantation, a letter to John Augustine Washington from his cousin B. W. A. about his current affairs, friends at the University of Virginia and at home, and a letter from R. W. N. Noland to John Augstine Washington about the sale of Farmington in Charlottesville, Virginia.. Names mentioned are Dr. Barnet, Mr. Clauson, Mr. Bell (Mr. Yates son-in-law), Whig candidates Gilmer & Southall, Dr. Cocke, Miss Julia Mandeville, and his Aunt Judy. Also mentioned is the death of Mr. Franklin English by bilious fever.

The first notebook covers courses on modern languages taught by Professors Maximilian Schele de Vere and [George Frederick] Holmes. Generally divided into a French and Spanish section, with an "Index Variorum," "Notes on French Idioms," and timelines of authors' lives.

This addition contains T-shirts, committee reports, proposals, surveys, petitions, clippings from various newspapers including The Cavalier Daily, brochures, a letter from Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida regarding the Unite the Right Rally in 2017, and a floppy disk documenting the work of the LGBTQ student center. Files on the disk include agendas from 1998 to 1999, letters working to address the harassment of the LGBTQ community during the "Good Old Song" singing, and various research and reports on resources at academic institutions for the LGBTQ community. Also included are two two Franklin E. Kameny posters posters, and a "Homophile" sign.

This collection contains a photograph of the Nu Charge of Theta Delta Chi fraternity that appeared in the 1928 edition of Corks and Curls. The photograph was taken by Gitchell's Studio, the yearbook photographer at the time. The framing label lists a "Mr. Ruffin," who is thought to be Robert DeJarnette Ruffin, a student in the College at the University of Virginia at the time.
