This collection contains three letters: one signed from Jean-Paul Sartre dated February 2, 1965; one undated autographed letter signed from Simone de Beauvoir to Hamer regarding the Washington and Lee University Glasgow Endowment lecture series; and one copy of Hamer's letter dated November 11, 1973 to Simone de Beauvoir inviting her to provide a Glasgow Endowment lecture.

This collection contains primary and secondary resources pertaining to Robert E. Lee and the Lee family. Included are correspondences from, to, and about Lee and various family members; memorabilia, pamphlets, photographs, reminiscences, miscellaneous personal papers, family history and genealogy. The collection includes materials acquired from the Lee family and items donated to and purchased and compiled by W&L University since Lee's tenure as president of Washington College from 1865 - 1870. Adminstrative papers, such as President's Reports, etc..., from Robert E. Lee's presidency of the school may be found within the W&L University Archives. Acc. 1999.039: This accession contains Peninsula Bank and Trust Co. passbooks reflecting endowment fund deposits. The books include information on the Junior and Senior Class Funds (1926), the Landscape Fund, the Dormitory Fund, the William and Mary Guarantee Fund, the William and Mary General Endowment, the Science Hall Fund, and the Phi Beta Kappa Fund.

Two page letter appealing to Reverend Wilmer and the Episcopal Church to consider increasing their endowment toward the College of William and Mary. As the only seminary in Virginia devoted to the teaching of the Epicopal faith, Hubbard argues fervently for such monetary support for this institution.

This collection consists of subscriber lists, financial reports, printed material, and correspondence related to the Lee Endowment Fund.
