The collection includes aerial photographs, publications, newspapers, magazines, correspondence, notebooks, color slides, glass slides, and maps.

This collection contains material from Agnes Wolf's work with the Dranesville District Democratic Committe, the Fairfax County Democratic Committee, the Democratic National Committee, the Women's Leaderships Forum, the McLean Citizens Association and other political organizations. The material consists of correspondence, campaign memorabilia, committee reports, photographs and voter data and information.

The Alexander Haight family collection contains correspondence, legal and financial documents, account ledgers, photographs, and other materials created and collected by members of the Haight family of Fairfax County, Virginia, including during their time living and working on Sully Plantation, during and after the Civil War, and into the mid-20th century, including during World War I.

The American Public Transportation Association records consist of material pertaining to the activities of APTA as well as both the American Transit Association (ATA) and the Institute for Rapid Transit (IRT). Types of materials in the collection include: memoranda, correspondence, reports, legislative information, industry-related information (such as brochures and technical reports), and membership information.

This collection contains official records of the American Theatre Association such as meeting minutes, correspondence, and administrative papers, as well as photographs and audiovisual materials.

Consists of research materials, mainly photocopies, of research on "Injunction Granted" published in Minnesota Review in 1973.

The Arthur Arundel papers collection includes correspondence, proposals, status reports and other documents documenting Arthur Arundel's service on the George Mason University Advisory Board and the Board of Visitors. Documents in this collection are photocopies of the orginals.

Collection contains research and manuscript materials used by Dr. Herman to produce Joseph McCarthy: Reexamining the Life and Legacy of America's Most Hated Senator (2000) and The Idea of Decline in Western History (1997). Types of materials in the collection include newspaper clippings, research notes, subject files, correspondence, and manuscript copies of chapters and end notes.

Comprises C. Harrison Mann, Jr.'s personal papers and handwritten draft of his history of George Mason University. Papers pertain to his political career and include subject files, memoranda, campaign materials, speeches, newsclippings and other related materials.

The papers in this collection document Clive DuVal's career as a Democratic delegate and senator in the Virginia General Assembly. The materials contained within - including correspondence, campaign pamphlets, legislative files, press releases and constituents newsletters - provide a glimpse of Virginia state politics and legislative issues during his first two decades of tenure starting in 1966, with the bulk of materials dating from 1974-1990. Legislative issues represented in this collection include the Equal Rights Amendment; the lottery; regulation of public utilities, mining operation, and nuclear power; conflict of interest rulings; environmental conservation; transportation; and higher education in Northern Virginia, especially pertaining to George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College. Among the most notable files are those relating to the Revision of the Virginia State Constitution (1968-1969). The correspondence and campaign materials reflect platform issues and alliances within the Democratic party, while the series on the McClean Citizens Association and the Virginians for Dulles contain records on important citizens action groups in Northern Virginia.
