Index Card Notes: To the general assembly of Virginia: The undersigned citizens of Wood County, respectfully represent, that in Feb. 1851 a charter was granted, authorizing the construction of the Northwestern Va. Railroad from Parkersburg to the B&O RR. Near Three Forks Creek in Taylor Co. and that a provision was inserted in said charter, at the instance of the City of Wheeling, forbidding the use of said Northwestern Va. RR. Until certain terms had been complied with by the B&) RR. Co...The Northwestern Va. RR. is rapidly nearing completion...the undersigned ask as a matter of justice that these onerous restrictions which have been imposed upon them, be unconditionally repealed. Xerox Copy Purchase. Va.
