Background

Scope and content:

Papers of Tom S. Witt, the former director of the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at West Virginia University, regarding his experience at the World Trade Center Marriott. Witt was attending the annual national meeting of the National Association for Business Economics at the World Trade Center during the 2001 September 11 terrorist attacks. This collection includes many local and national newspapers, maps of the World Trade Center Marriott, personal items recovered from his and his wife's hotel room at the Marriott, several books that include interviews with Witt and accounts of his personal experiences during the attacks, and a large picture book on the attacks. This collection is minimally processed.
