- Records related to the Forbes, Anderson, and Hildebrand families of northern West Virginia. The Forbes and Anderson families were related by marriage, some of whom lived in Morgantown; the Hildebrands were neighbors of the Forbes family in Morgantown. The Forbes and Anderson papers include genealogical information, correspondence, greeting cards, photographs, and other material. The Hildebrand papers include correspondence, World War I and World War II records, photographs, medical and financial records, and newspaper clippings, among other material. Of special interest in the collection is a 24 November 1862 proclamation issued by Virginia Governor Francis H. Pierpont regarding the West Virginia statehood bill before the United State Congress at that time.

The Forbes and Anderson papers include genealogical information, correspondence, greeting cards, photographs, and other material. Of special interest in the collection is a 1862 November 24 proclamation issued by Virginia Governor Francis H. Pierpont regarding the West Virginia statehood bill before the United State Congress at that time.
Other individuals documented in Box 1 include Lileth Bosco, Thomas Forbes (died ca. 1930), and Frank Anderson (died ca. 1977).
