Scope and content:

Records of the Wanamie Mine and Glen Alden Coal Company located in Nanticoke Pennsylvania. Materials include New Employee Reports and Changes in Employee Occupation Reports from 1940-1944, dust control reports from 1943-1948, mine blueprints from 1952-1957, and Interior Board of Mine Operation Appeals decisions. Also included are materials relating to an exhibition titled "Men at the Coalface," (1979) consisting of drawings by Tisa von der Schulenburg, a German countess. These materials include invitations to the exhibition, tour dates, programs, and correspondence between Tisa, Davitt McAteer and others connected to the exhibit. This collection is minimally processed.
