Scope and content:

The material consists of business invoices and payment receipts for goods and supplies purchased for the operation of the Weston State Hospital, Weston, Lewis County, West Virginia. The records cover the period: May 1883-Dec. 1883; June 1884; August 1884; Nov. 1884- Dec. 1884; Jan. 1888-Sept. 1888; Nov. 1888; April 1892; July 1892; and March 1893.

Many business firms are represented including ones from New York, Chicago, Toledo, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore. West Virginia firms represented are from Wheeling, Weston and Parkersburg. See inventory for list of firms and products each marketed.
