Subjects include descriptions of Clarksburg, schools, churches, and family affairs. Included are three scrapbooks of the Mortimer W. Smith family, covering family history, and typescripts of speeches made by Smith, 1936-1939, as chief engineer of the West Virginia State Road Commission and as director of the Motor Carrier Department, Public Service Commission of West Virginia.
