Abstract:
A genealogy with some brief accounts about members of the Sunderman family. The earliest American member, John C., immigrated from Germany in 1848 with his brother, according to family tradition, in order to avoid being drafted into the Prussian Army. The genealogies of allied families are traced back to 1614. Extensive mention is made of one allied family member, Andrew Fulton whose family was prominent in Pittsburgh. Fulton was active in city politics in the late nineteenth century holding many different offices including that of mayor, 1884-88. Families mentioned are Lyon, Dent, Hammond, Collins and Fulton.
