There are scattered letters relating to the War of 1812, the Mexican War, and the Civil War; post office records of Preston County, WV dating from the 1840's; and political correspondence. Correspondents include Nathan Goff and Benjamin F. Shaffer of Company A, Seventh West Virginia Volunteer Infantry.
