Records of the West Virginia Soil Conservation Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture compiled by administrator E.T. Estlack. Includes correspondence, reports, publications, and other records related to soil conservation and watersheds in West Virginia. Also includes West Virginia University publications.

Biographical / historical:

Eli Thomas Estlack, 1927-2018, was born on Purgatory Run Road in Tyler County West Virginia.Thomas and was the son of Whitney C. Estlack and Georgia Henthorn Estlack . He was educated in the Tyler County school system, Salem College and West Virginia University. He was a veteran of the US Navy. His first job was with Wetzel County School System as an instructor of veterans, 1949-50. He then went on to work for the US Department of Agriculture-Soil Conservation Service in Nicholas and Kanawha Counties 1951-67. He finished his career in Morgantown at the Soil Conservation Service State Office as Personnel Officer, 1967-1969, and State Administrative Officer, 1970-1977.
