Abstract:
Transcripts, handwritten notes, newspaper clippings, correspondence, bills of lading, and a legal notice regarding the Scott and Hess families of Monongalia County, West Virginia. Transcripts include a land grant (1774) for James Scott (1742-1781), awarded for service in the French and Indian War. This tract of land became known as Richwoods Plantation. Transcripts also include land surveys (1790) for Jemima and Hannah Scott in Monongalia County, correspondence, and Scott family history.
