Scope and content:

Papers of Ethel Fike Friend, a public school teacher who spent much of her life in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia. Includes books, pamphlets, correspondence, church records, photographs, and writings by Ethel and others mostly documenting the genealogy and churches of Preston County, West Virginia and Garrett County, Maryland, with specific attention to Sand Spring Church of God in Friendsville, Maryland.

Includes obituary clippings and funeral cards, a few publications, and a handwritten Sand Spring Sunday School record book from the 1800s.

Includes public sale notices, deed materials, financial documents, cards and graduation invitations.

Includes two large scrapbooks of obituary clippings and an envelope of family history material.

Includes Sand Spring Church of God records and rolls, a scrapbook of obituaries, and newspaper clippings and publications received by Ethel Fike Friend in the mail.
