Abstract:
Genealogical information regarding the Cox, Menefee, Knotts, and Jennings families of West Virginia compiled by Olive Knotts Cox, a descendant of the Menefee and Knotts families. Includes correspondence, research notes, newspaper clippings, annotated Bibles, diplomas, and other material. Also includes a collection of over 70 family photographs (ca.1880-1970). Most photographs are candid or portrait shots and are labeled with names (some also identify places and dates). Five photographic portraits are tintypes dating from the mid to late 1800s, two of which are mounted in cases.
