Jeffrey Amherst, New York, to Donald Campbell. Concerns raising 268 recruits from the colony of Virginia for the King's forces. Campbell is chosen to go to Hampton {Va.} on the "Ranger", and from there to Williamsburg to review the recruits. There he is to deliver a letter to Lt. Gov. {Francis} Fauquier. Provides a credit on John Hunter to pay the bounties. Troops are to board the ship immediately f or the return trip to New York.
