A letter from Norman Spurling to Mary Miley (Theobald) replying to an ad she wrote in the Flat Hat. The letter is accompanied by a printed copy of the Flat Hat article, and a typed explanation written by Theobald detailing the backstory behind the ad and the letter. The two met in France, and Spurling encouraged Theobald to apply to William & Mary.
The letter includes mentions of the William & Mary student response to the Kent State shootings.
