1-piece of paper that has "I, STATE YOUR FULL NAME, HAVING BEEN APPOINTED A ___ IN THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE, DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR THAT I WILL SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES AGAINST ALL ENEMIES, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC; THAT I WILL BEAR TRUE FAITH AND ALLEGIANCE TO THE SAME; THAT I WILL TAKE THIS OBLIGATION FREELY, WITHOUT MENTAL RESERVATION OR PURPOSE OF EVASION; AND THAT I WILL WELL AND FAITHFULLY DISCHARGE THE DUTIES OF THE OFFICE UPON WHICH I AM ABOUT TO ENTER, SO HELP ME GOD" typed in black Times New Roman font. "STATE YOUR FULL NAME" is crossed out with a pen and "Scott Thomas Hankinson," is written in cursive with a black pen. In the blank "An Ensign " is written in cursive in black pen innk. "AIR FORCE," is also crossed out with pen and "Navy" is written above it in cursive with black ink. There is a comma added in black pen ink after "FAITHFULLY" and a semicolon after "OFFICE." "Over" is written within parentheses in cursive black pen ink. The paper is taped to a recipe card on which is written in cursive "This silver dollar was given to Armand (Col. USAF Res.) by Scott Hankinson (husband of Marie Galfo Hanksinson) on June 30th, 2000 after Armand administered the oath of office to Scott making Scott an Ensign USN. (Marie is the daughter of Noel Galfo--Armand's cousin who served on 3 fronts in Europe, Africa, Italy in WWII). The card measures approximately 5in. (length) x 3in. (width) and is in good condition.
