This collection consists of the personal papers of Ann Buckles, College of William and Mary class of 1951, and includes materials from her time at William and Mary, her subsequent career on Broadway and in television and film, and her tenure at Harper's Bazaar. There are photographs, video recordings, clippings, correspondence, and materials regarding Benjamin Bray, Glenn Close, and members of the Department of Theatre and Speech. There is also some material from Buckles' later activities upon her return to Williamsburg, Virginia.
Acc. 2012.178 contains correspondence, official legal and religions documents, printed material, newsletters and pamphlets, clippings, and a copy of Paul Green's "The Common Glory."
This series encompasses Buckles' long career in the performing arts as an actress and director. Buckles was involved in productions ranging from community theater to Broadway as well as in television and film. Within are playbills, programs, scripts, and acting notes. Though the collection spans the time between 1950 and 2006, there are gaps during which Buckles pursued other interests, such as her stint at Harper's Bazaar.
This series contains letters, greeting cards, and notes between Ann Buckles and her family, friends, and colleagues in both her personal and professional lives.
This series contains photos, pay stubs, legal papers concerning Buckles' affairs as well as those of Benjamin Bray, copies of her work at Harper's Bazaar, and other personal papers.
This series contains clippings pertaining to Buckles' life and career as well as clippings regarding items and people of interest that she collected.
