- Scope and content:

Copybook of Lizzie Ellis Bernard of Rockwood, Orange Coounty and Petersburg, Virginia. The following description was provided by the seller: "There are several numbered pages where the writer has copied poems, lengthy essays, German language exercises, lists for home remedies, word puzzles, etc. She has also cut pages, cartoons and articles from newspapers and broadsides and glued them over existing hand-written work.... There is a newspaper piece with an image of a New Year's clock from 1887, and a broadside for the "Old Folks' Concert" dated 1886. There are also several entries with Lizzie Bernard's address as Petersburg, Virginia."
