The collection contains files (ca. 800 items) on reference topics researched for patrons and University offices by the staff of Special Collections.
Among the many topics are administrative committees; affirmative action for employees; African Americans at the University, including a report by Ervin L. Jordan, Jr., and a 1929 master's thesis "The Negro in Charlottesville and Albemarle County," by Marjorie Irwin; art; athletics in 1951 and 1978 (Gooch and Corrigan reports); Beta Bridge; Blandy Farm; a selective U.
