Scope and content:

This addition to the papers of Alan Cheuse consists of five preliminary drafts of his novel The Light Possessed (formerly called The Rose in the Skull), 1989-1990, all containing corrections and changes in the text by the author and his editor. Also present is a folder of notes and suggestions (23 items) made by several different readers concerning The Light Possessedbefore publication.

Acquisition information:
Alan Cheuse of Fairfax, Virginia, placed his papers on loan to the Library on November 10, 1992. The papers were purchased by the Library on September 11, 2003.
