Background

Scope and content:

These letters and related materials consisting of seven items, 1982 and 1987, were generated by Edward Lay through his research concerning a local architect, Benjamin Charles Baker(? -1955) of " Rosemont, " Albemarle County, Virginia.

The collection also includes notes taken during a telephone conversation with Henderson Heywardon June 25, 1987, concerning Henderson Heyward, William L. Bottomley, Alfred Llorens, and Charley Baker.

This correspondence was given to the Library by Mr. K. Edward Lay, School of Architecture, University of Virginia, on July 30, 1987.
