- Biographical / historical:
-
George Wilson was born in Richmond, VA, in 1895. He joined the New York firm of Breed, Abbott and Morgan (now Whitman, Breed, Abbott and Morgan) upon graduation from the Law School in 1920. He became a partner in 1928 and remained with the firm until his death in 1967. When he died, his will stipulated that a trust be established for his wife, Elizabeth Dent Wilson, which should pass on to the Law School when she died. In turn, Mrs. Wilson chose to leave the Law School the residual of her own estate. Those two bequests total more than six million dollars for unrestricted use, the largest estate gift ever received by the Law School.
