This is an incomplete collection of records that were originally filed with the Court of Appeals of Virginia for review and study before an appeal was heard in the court. These records include, but are not limited to, briefs, opinions, and appendices. The records are grouped and arranged by docket number.

The Commonwealth of Virginia established the Court of Appeals on January 1, 1985. It is an appellate court that hears appeals from decisions from Virginia's circuit courts and the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission. Appeals from this court go to the Supreme Court of Virginia.
- Acquisition information:
- The University of Virginia Law Library served as a repository for the records of the Court of Appeals of Virginia from 1985 to sometime in the 2000s. During that period, the court transferred the materials in this collection directly to the library.
