Background

Scope and content:

This collection contains reports, minutes, bylaws, research and other material related to the Hampton Roads Center for Civic Engagement, which promoted sustainable, deliberative democracy in Hampton Roads. Most of the material relates to how to attract and develop businesses in Hampton Roads.

Biographical / historical:

The Hampton Roads Center for Community Engagement (HRCCE) was established by Jim Babcock in partnership with the Future of Hampton Roads regional group. Their goals were to create a connection between Hampton Roads and an economically efficient region.
