Biographical / historical:

Born Laura Wright on March 2, 1871, she was the daughter of Leander Wright. She grew up in Lexington, Virginia, Rockbridge County. On June 17, 1891, she married Charles Henry/Harry Hardy in Lexington. She spent her adult life in the area and passed away in July 1928, buried in the Lexington Cemetery. Charles Henry Hardy (1867–1932) was born on October 16, 1867, and was a native of Winchester, Virginia in Frederick County. Because Charles was originally from Winchester and Laura was from Lexington, their marriage bridged the two regions. They were the parents of Charles Hardy and Elizabeth Hardy.

Eleanor Lambert Hockman (1921-2007) was from Virginia. Her parents were Emma May Copper (1888–1965) and William Hunter Hockman. Eleanor married George Franklin Fogelman, Jr. on April 9, 1944. Their marriage announcement was recorded in Luray, Virginia, located in Page County. George Franklin Fogelman, Jr. was born in South Carolina. Elinor was a niece of Mary and Tom Copper.
