Background
- Scope and content:
-
This collection contains letters between Jean Dupuy Taylor and her uncle and former Washington and Lee University president, Henry Louis Smith, concerning grades, family, and home life while Jean and her brother Henry attended Lexington High School. Smith's letters focus primarily on his niece and nephew's academic progress. There are grade reports from Lexington High School signed by principle Harrington Waddell that accompany many of Smith's letters.
