Background

Scope and content:

This collection consists of 17 watercolor and pen/ink drawings by Cadet Levin J. Houston. Several of the drawings were featured in the cadet magazine known as "The Sniper" that was published during the 1920s.

Biographical / historical:

Levin James Houston was born in 1905 in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from VMI in 1925 and went on to become a college professor. He died in 1990 in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
