Background

Scope and content:

This collection consists of one VMI scrapbook compiled by Cadet Sumter L. Lowry from 1910 to 1914. The scrapbook includes photographs of camp, clippings, and documents concerning cadet life.

Biographical / historical:

Sumter deLeon Lowry was born in 1893 and graduated from VMI in 1914. He was a Lieutenant General in the United States Army. Lowry died in 1985 in Tampa, Florida.
