Background

Scope and content:

This collection consists of one notebook compiled by VMI Cadet Howard Osburn. The notebook contains copied poetry, orders, and an anecdote concerning Benjamin F. Ficklin, VMI Class of 1849.

Biographical / historical:

Howard Osburn was born in 1853 in Jefferson County, West Virginia. He graduated VMI in 1875 and went on to become a physician. He died in 1931 in Rippon, West Virginia.
