This collection consists of one letter (March 20, 1865) from Thomas B. Robinson (VMI Class of 1856 and faculty member) that recommends Francis S. Johnson for service in the Confederate Army.
- Biographical / historical:

Francis Smith Johnson was born in 1847 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He graduated VMI in 1867 and was a New Market cadet. He was also a lawyer. Johnson died in 1902 in Little Rock.
