This collection consists of George M. Brooke, Jr.'s copy of the galley proofs for his book titled "John M. Brooke, Naval Scientist and Educator" (University Press of Virginia, 1980).

Biographical / historical:

George M. Brooke, Jr. was born in 1914 at the American Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. He graduated VMI in 1936 and was a VMI faculty member (Department of History) from 1942 to 1980.
