Scope and content:

This collection consists of one letter (dated May 27, 1841) from Nathaniel H. Campbell to Congressman William L. Goggin. In the letter, Campbell requests Goggin's assistance in obtaining a position in the United States Army.

Biographical / historical:

Nathaniel Henry Campbell was born in 1824 in Bedford County, Virginia. He graduated VMI in 1843 and went on to become a lawyer and banker. Campbell died in 1867 in Bedford, Virginia.
