This collection includes two series, Minutes of the State Board of Education, and Reports of the President. Minutes are usally more breif, and include discussion and official decisions made in relation to the college. Reports of the President are reports compiled by college administration and presented to the State Board of Education thoughout the year. They tend to be more detailed and include more specific information about school operations.

From April 1930-1964 Longwood was governed by the Virginia State Board of Education. This body oversaw operations of the college along with the other state teacher training colleges.

It is unknown when or from whom these copies were aquired by the Greenwood Library Archives, though likely most materials were aquired from the Presidents office. Some minutes and reports are copies which were aquired from the Library of Virginia.
