Scope and content:

This collection, which dates from 1932 to 1936, contains student records, training records, a commencement invitation and program for the June 1936 exercises at State Teachers College, a 1936 State Teachers College diploma, and a 1936 Virginian Yearbook that includes a photo of Winnie Eubank inside the front cover. Many of the pages of the yearbook contain inscriptions written to Winnie Eubank by professors and fellow students.

Biographical / historical:

Winnie Frances Eubank was born in Franklin County, Virginia in 1914. She graduated from [then] State Teachers College in 1936 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and History. After graduation, Winnie Eubank taught for 30 years in the public schools of Franklin City, Virginia.

Custodial history:

This collection, which relates to Winnie Frances Eubank while a student at State Teachers College, was acquired by Nancy Shelton during her tenure with the Longwood University Department of Alumni Relations. It is unknown when this collection was transferred to the Greenwood Library Archives.
